The Chairman of the Italian Commission K.V. Krohin took part in the final meeting of the MCCI Committee for the Promotion of International Activities, which took place on 11.12.24 in the Chamber's office on Petrovka.

The meeting was dedicated to supporting Moscow companies in international markets.

In his welcoming speech, Vladimir Platonov, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that promoting the development of foreign economic activity is a key area for the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry: "We are part of the ecosystem of world chambers of commerce and have the opportunity to directly process requests from our entrepreneurs; in the same way, we are approached by other chambers from all over the world," said Platonov.

The head of the Chamber noted that the tasks associated with conducting foreign economic activity are now changing somewhat, "since we are turning from a consumer country into a producer country." The speaker emphasized that the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry maintains close ties with the Moscow Government. For example, for the second year in a row, the Chamber has won the Moscow Mayor's Grant for the implementation of the "Start Your Business with Moscow" project, the main objective of which is to provide foreign students with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct business in Russia. "In 2025, we decided to extend the project to Russian students. And I believe that this is also one of the most important, interesting, new areas of our foreign economic activity."

Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow, Chairman of the MCCI Committee for Assistance to Foreign Economic Activity Sergey Cheremin summed up some of the results of the work of the government's foreign economic activity block. "We manage to maintain interaction with virtually all of our foreign partners and we remain committed to the policy of city diplomacy, which has demonstrated its effectiveness in our example and is, in my opinion, a logical addition and our contribution to reducing the degree of international tension," said the head of the DVMS.

He reported that today Moscow actively interacts with more than a hundred of the largest capitals and macro-regions. "We have signed more than 150 cooperation programs, which are not just declarations of intent, but real documents that regulate our interaction in various sectors of the economy," the speaker emphasized.

Seven years ago, Moscow became a partner of the annual investment forum in the United Arab Emirates and traditionally takes part in it with a Moscow exposition. At the same time, the strategic agreement provides not only for the bilateral format, but also for interaction with third countries, which is "very important for us in a situation where we have practically lost other international platforms."

Sergey Cheremin noted that interaction with international organizations, primarily with BRICS, remains a very important element of international cooperation for Moscow. The Government Minister highlighted the important role of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry in organizing and holding the BRICS Municipal Forum, which was attended by six thousand delegates from 120 countries.

Trade turnover between Moscow and China is growing. It currently amounts to almost 100 billion dollars and continues to increase steadily. And the trade turnover of Moscow residents with Indian companies has approached 30 billion dollars. "This is a record figure," the head of the Far Eastern Economic Forum noted. Cooperation with the countries of Latin America and Africa is developing. “We have begun to actively interact with Algeria, we have many projects under consideration today with the participation of Moscow companies, and I hope that next year we will please you with new contracts and agreements,” said Sergei Cheremin.
